Mission Hills

Luxury • Traditional • Country Club • Established • Classic • Formal

Mission Hills, Kansas is a very high-end enclave of Kansas City and probably the most beautiful. It has one of the highest median incomes for any city in the United States. Winding roads, meandering streams, and tree-lined streets form the backdrop of this community, as well as three golf courses which flow through the stately homes and mansions. There is no commercial development here. Mission Hills lies adjacent to Brookside and Ward Parkway on the Kansas side of the state line. The homes are mostly older, but each are unique, large, mostly custom-built homes which will stand the test of time and trends.

Mission Hills History

Mission Hills was originally developed by noted Kansas City developer J. C. Nichols beginning in the 1920s as part of his Country Club District plan. The city started as a planned upscale community to be built around the Mission Hills Country Club. An Indian mission was established at the town’s site in the 1830s, hence the name of the later settlement. (wikipedia)
